The Bride and Groom

Bride’s Name: Nora Vigil

Groom’s Name: Carlos Velasquez

How you met your fiancé? Online dating site

How did he propose? Two days before Christmas I came home from work after having worked a long 13 hour shift…when I got home there was a four foot Christmas tree near the window. I immediately was excited about it because I had been wanting to put one up since November. I walked over to it to read the card on it (I think I got a little ahead of his plan because he had gotten food from my favorite place and wanted me to come eat first, but I was just too excited about the tree). I opened the card and down the middle it read, “You’ve given me four years, now I want to give you forever” at which that point he got down on one knee and proposed.

Your Bridal Gown & Accessories

Who was the wedding gown designer, and what was the style? Allure (Couture Collection) C209 in ivory.

What was your favorite Feature about your dress: The unique draped layers of organza.

How did you know your dress was “the one”? After trying on a few lacy dresses and came to the realization that what I had visualized myself in was not going to work, one of the girls at the boutique suggested I try on something a little difference. When I saw myself in it in the mirror, I just knew. It fit like a glove.

Describe your experience at Pence & Panache: Everyone was really friendly and experienced. I never felt rushed. I was open to suggestions and I’m glad I was because the staff really know how to assist with finding the right look.

What accessories did you choose to accent your dress: I chose a veil that had a little glitz on the edge to compliment the glitzy/sparkly belt I had purchased there as well.

Your Wedding Day

Wedding Venue: The Ashton Depot (Fort Worth, TX)

Who was your Wedding Photographer: Kent Evans Photography

What was your “something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue”? I didn’t have something old, my something new was a bracelet my fiancé had given me from James Avery, my something borrowed and blue was a hummingbird hair piece my best friend let me borrow.

What color palette did you select? We chose variations of purple, from as bright as magenta, as light as lavender, and as dark violet.

How do you describe the theme of your wedding? It turned out to be kind of a glam wedding. We used a bit of sparkle in the details.

What is your #1 tip for brides in the planning process? Start early and stay calm. Do not be picky, your wedding day will be perfect no matter what you choose, you’re marrying your best friend and nothing can be more perfect than that!

Do you have any advice for brides who are still searching for their perfect bridal gown? Be open minded. Try on dresses that you normally wouldn’t even consider, you’ll be surprised at what you find.

What was your favorite part of your wedding day? My favorite part of the wedding day was at the end when guests got to dance once last song and the groom was picked up and tossed in the air by my family members. He’s a quiet guy, so I’m sure he was taken by surprise but everyone was laughing, all smiles, and having fun.
