The Bride and Groom
Bride’s Name: Courtney Miller
Groom’s Name: Michael Miller
Wedding Date: December 29, 2015
How you met your fiancé? Michael and I met at the Texas Rangers ballpark at a country concert. Michael was with a mutual friend who introduced us. We hit it off instantly and spent the rest of the evening together and never looked back!
How did he propose? Michael went on vacation with my family and one night we had planned a sunset dinner cruise. It was so romantic cruising around the island and I was actually thinking to myself that I wish he would propose! Sure enough, he “goes to the restroom” and when he returns to me at the front of the boat, he gets down on one knee and proposes! It was the happiest day of my life, behind our wedding of course.
Your Bridal Gown & Accessories
Who was the wedding gown designer, and what was the style? Maggie Sottero, Paulina
Favorite Feature about your dress: My favorite part of my dress was the beautiful roses in the tulle at the bottom. It was so dramatic, yet elegant at the same time and gave a wow factor as I walked down the aisle.
How did you know your dress was “the one”? I knew my dress was the one because it was the second one I tried on and I didn’t want to try any others! Another thing that put me over the edge was the tears my friends and family shed when they saw me in it!
Describe your experience at Pence & Panache: My experience at Pence & Panache was amazing. They were so flexible when it came to appointment times and were very accommodating to my friends and my family, as well as myself. The staff was so friendly and made you feel beautiful. It doesn’t hurt that they supply you with a mimosa if you say yes to the dress!
What accessories did you choose to accent your dress: I wore a beaded belt, a fingertip length vail, as well as a fur cape.
Your Wedding Day
Wedding Venue: Piazza in the Village
Who was your Wedding Photographer: Bridals Photographer: Jenny Bright Photography and Wedding Photographer: Fairy Tale Photography
What was your “something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue”? Something old and something borrowed was taken care of by my great aunt’s ring my mom let me wear, something blue was in my garter, something new was the diamond earrings Michael gave me as my wedding gift.
What color palette did you select? Because it was a winter wedding, I wanted one bold color to pop and then accent with lighter colors. I decided to go with Navy (because that was Michael’s first choice) and then soften it up with blushes and creams.
How do you describe the theme of your wedding? The theme of my wedding was elegant glamour. I wanted soft pinks, a lot of flowers, chandeliers, etc.
What is your #1 tip for brides in the planning process? My number one tip would be to start early!!!! I found my dress a year in advanced and the latest I found my last vendor was 5 months prior to my wedding.
Do you have any advice for brides who are still searching for their perfect bridal gown? Find something that makes you feel the most “you”. Don’t go for the fads, go for the look you would wear a rendition of in your day to day life.
What was your favorite part of your wedding day? The favorite part of my wedding day was seeing Michael’s face as I came down the aisle. We didn’t do a first look so it was sweet, raw emotion in his face and I loved every minute of it!
