The Bride and Groom
How you met your fiancé? We met at a bank in Abilene, TX where Colton worked and my family’s company banked at.
How did he propose? It was me and my twin brother’s 25th birthday and we had plans to go out with both of our families to Perini Ranch Steakhouse in Buffalo Gap, TX. After dinner (which Colton did not touch any of his food) we opened our birthday presents and when we were leaving, Colton told me that we should go out the “back” way and took me out to the middle of the outdoor lighted dance floor and got on one knee and asked me to be his forever!
Your Bridal Gown & Accessories
Who was the wedding gown designer? Allure Bridal Style #9018
What was your favorite Feature about your dress: My favorite feature about my Allure gown was all of the detailing. The back had an embellished button on every 2 buttons and I loved the balance of lace and beads. The train was absolutely stunning as well. It was beautiful.
How did you know your dress was “the one”? I really did not have a dress that screamed, “this is the one”, that really is not my personality. However, everyone knew I was going to choose the Allure gown because I was in love with the back of the dress and I “lit” up when I walked out on the beautiful P&P runway. I can say that when you do not pressure your clients, it really helps them be able to make the right decision. I went to several other stores that was pressuring me to buy that day. P&P did not make me feel pressured. They wanted to ensure I chose the dress that was “THE DRESS”.
Describe your experience at Pence & Panache: I heard about P&P at the Dallas Bridal Show. I was there just trying to get some wedding ideas. The booth was cute and I took a card not thinking anything about it. I had several stores I “had to go to” when I came from Abilene. After looking through business cards, I made my top store selections. My mother was not able to make it the first day so I decided to take my Matron of Honor with me to some of the stores that were not on my top list. We decided to try out P&P first. I was in LOVE with the store as soon as I walked in. It has such a welcoming presence, you can drink champagne /mimosas while you look and you feel like a true Bride and princess walking into the middle runway looking up at all the mirrors. I did not go to another store that made me feel like this. Kelly was my consultant and I adore her. She was great. Answered all of my questions and made me feel super comfortable.
Accessories chosen to accent your dress: I chose a simple veil with beaded embellishments at the end. Silver glitter TOMS so my feet would not kill me at the reception, a diamond from my dad that was made into a necklace. The dress was so amazing, you didn’t need much.
Your Wedding Day
Wedding Venue: Logsdon Chapel at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX.
Who was your Wedding Photographer: Derrick Tribbey Photography
What was your “something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue”? Something old/new was my dads diamond , something borrowed: was my grandmother’s handkerchiefs, something blue was on my garter.
What is your #1 tip for brides in the planning process? Get lots of rest and enjoy it. It goes by way too fast and you plan way too much. Take the time to get rest and really soak it all in.
How do you describe the theme of your wedding? Simple, elegant, classy with a pop of color. I wanted a very traditional wedding with a twist of fun…so that’s what I did!
What color palette did you select and how did you choose? Coral and Gray. I love the color of coral, it looks good on anyone. I decided to do gray tuxedos because it was springtime and I wanted it to feel and look like a spring wedding.
Do you have any advice for brides who are still searching for their perfect bridal gown? Look around, shop around…. It is fun and worth it in the end. I was this close from choosing a dress at another store from being pressured into a certain price. DON’T DO IT! I am so thankful and glad I decided to go back and try on the dress at Pence and Panache again before making my final decision.
What was your favorite part of your wedding day? We had a trolley take our family and wedding party to the reception, it was so much fun. Most of all though just being surrounded with our family and friends and marrying my best friend. There were things that didn’t go as planned but 20 years from now you will not remember or care about those things. It was so much fun to celebrate with everyone!
